High security

Hardware built for daily commercial use

The commercial door hardware protecting your business takes a beating. A single exterior door on a busy retail location cycles open and closed over 2,000 times per week. Cheap hardware fails within months, creating security gaps and frustrating staff.

Alberta Lock installs and recommends commercial-grade products from Schlage, Medeco, and Mul-T-Lock. For businesses requiring the highest level of key control, restricted key systems prevent unauthorized duplication at any retail key-cutting kiosk. Each blank carries a registered serial number, and only authorized dealers can cut copies with written owner approval.

Panic bars from major manufacturers meet Alberta's building and fire code exit device requirements. If your current panic bars stick, drag, or fail to latch properly, you risk both a security breach and a fire code violation.

Access control

Keyless entry that integrates with your operations

Modern keyless entry retrofits onto most existing commercial door frames. During an on-site assessment, Drew evaluates the current doors and recommends compatible options without forcing a full door replacement.

  • Keypad locks for back-of-house and after-hours access
  • Proximity card readers with audit trails that track every entry
  • Electronic strikes and maglocks integrated with existing security platforms
  • Restricted-key fallback so a downed reader never locks your team out

Worked with Drew to rekey our new-to-us home, ran into some trouble with a bad cylinder and despite a small wait, he managed to get everything sorted out and in clean working order. I would vouch for him and recommend him to others for his transparent pricing and commendable workmanship. Thanks for taking care of our family Drew!

Called Drew late afternoon and he was able to come over on his way home to have a look at fixing the mechanism on my antique door handle assembly. Drew was not familiar with the style of the handle but through troubleshooting and persistence, he was able to resolve the issue saving me several hundreds of dollars in a new handle mechanism. Works great now. I would definitely call them again and recommend his services to family and friends.

I would highly recommend this company. Professional, efficient, and excellent customer service. Drew even vacuumed my front mat afterwards and cleaned up after the job was done!

A silly whoops, left the keys in the car. But this beauty of a man came in decent time, even when delayed he called us to let us know. When he arrived it couldn't have taken more than five minutes. Absolutely no damage to the car, and he was polite the whole time. Take it from a girl who's used to scams and shady people, if you're panicking and don't know what to do, use this company. Any car locksmith is expensive, but this one is reasonable. Again, thank you.

I highly recommend Alberta Lock! Drew was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. All the other places I called expected me to be an expert on security and locks. They gave me so much overwhelming information and asked me a lot of questions. But when I called Drew and explained what I was looking for, he guided me to the right solutions really quickly and easily. He was available when we needed him, provided updates on arrival time and throughout the job, and got the work done quickly and with great quality. Drew was also very polite and professional, and I would definitely hire him again!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a commercial locksmith in Calgary charge?
Commercial service calls in Calgary typically range from $95 to $220 for standard rekeys or lockouts. Larger projects like master key system installations or high-security upgrades vary by building size and hardware selected. Alberta Lock provides a free on-site assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
Can you rekey all the locks in my Calgary office building at once?
Yes. Drew routinely rekeys entire commercial buildings in a single visit. For a standard 20-door office, the work takes roughly 3 to 5 hours. Scheduling can happen around your business hours to avoid disrupting staff or tenants, and every new key is tested on-site before Drew leaves.
What is a master key system and does my business need one?
A master key system allows designated personnel to open multiple locks with a single key while restricting other keyholders to specific doors. Property managers, facility supervisors, and business owners with more than five keyed entry points benefit significantly. Drew designs custom key hierarchies based on your building's layout and access requirements.
Do you offer emergency lockout service for Calgary businesses?
Yes. Alberta Lock provides 24/7 emergency commercial lockout service across Calgary, with an average response time under 40 minutes inside city limits. Drew carries the tools and hardware needed to resolve most commercial lockouts on-site.
What is the difference between a commercial lock and a residential lock?
Commercial locks carry ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 or Grade 2 ratings and withstand significantly more force and usage cycles than residential Grade 3 locks. A commercial-grade Schlage lock endures over 1 million open-close cycles. Commercial locks also support master keying, restricted key blanks, and integration with electronic access control.
Is Alberta Lock licensed and insured for commercial work?
Alberta Lock Inc. holds Provincial Locksmith Licence B001472 under Alberta's Security Services and Investigators Act. The business carries $5 million in commercial general liability insurance through Tokio Marine Canada Ltd. (policy ZAT29863). Certificates of insurance are available for property managers and strata corporations on request.
Can you install keyless entry or access control on existing commercial doors?
In most cases, yes. Modern keyless entry systems and access control readers retrofit onto existing commercial door frames and hardware. During an on-site assessment, Drew evaluates the current doors and recommends compatible options without forcing a full door replacement.
